NTSP Charitable Fund Announces Recipients of Grant Opportunities

The NTSP Board is pleased to announce the winners of the recent grant funding opportunities offered by the NTSP Charitable Fund. The organizations chosen serve the community and fit well within the Charitable Fund’s mission of "Driving innovations in the coordination and integration of safe and effective patient care in the North Texas Region." Each of the following organizations will receive a $10,000 grant from the NTSP Charitable Fund.

  • JPS – Partners Together for Health
The overarching goal of this grant is to decrease the incidence of diabetes in Tarrant County. Using North Texas Specialty Physicians (NTSP) grant funds, JPS wants to increase health awareness across Tarrant County using community health workers; Promatoras to educate Hispanic residents. The community health worker can provide education in a variety of locations including recreation centers, schools, neighborhoods and more to reach Tarrant County residents. In addition, JPS will educate approximately 250 lay people to become health ambassadors who will focus on churches in Tarrant County.
  • Cornerstone Assistance Network
This grant was requested for the free medical clinic that has served its community for the past ten years. The purpose of the Medical Clinic is to expand the primary care medical home access to the underserved and uninsured population in Tarrant County. The medical clinic provides services to the Central Tarrant County area as well as referrals from partner organizations.
  • Healing Shepherd Clinic
The immediate goal of the Healing Shepherd Clinic is to meet the established need for free healthcare for homeless men and women of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, beginning with the residents of Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County and “guests” of the Mission who are non-UGM residents who may receive meals or other services from the Mission. The long-term goal of the clinic is to expand services to as many of the homeless of our community as possible and to provide a true medical home for all patients of the clinic. By providing primary care services and serving as a medical home for its patients, the Healing Shepherd Clinic helps lessen the burden placed on local hospitals while ensuring that homeless individuals receive free, ongoing healthcare and are armed with the information and knowledge to maintain optimal health.
